Training & Interaction Programme
A training cum demonstration programme was organized under ATMA scheme at Hnahthial, Chanmari Veng, Lunglei District, YMA Hall Chanmari on 10th April,2012. The training was delivered to women society MHIP group by Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science) on food preservation. A practical demonstration was also conducted after the training. A total number of 45 women attended the training programme.
On 13th April, 2012 Programme Assistant ( Computer Application) Laldinpuia delivered training programme on Basics of Computer & Internet Application to the Govt. High School students and MJA members of Tlabung block, Lunglei District. The Programme was organized at Government High School Tlabung. A total number of 10 students and 6 MJA members attended the training programme.
On the same day under ATMA scheme, a Farmers’ Scientist Interaction was conducted along with the AMFU and Scientific Staffs of KVK, Lunglei District. The programme was chaired by Dr.Lalmuanzovi ( Programme Coordinator) and two Scientist viz Senjit Singh Ashem and H.Vanlalhmuliana as designated experts. The Interaction programme stress on the problems and difficulties faces by the farmers in the region. Few farmers and representative of the AMFU participated the farmer Scientist Interaction.
Front Line Demonstration on Supplementary Nutrition to Pre-school Children
Front Line Demonstration on Supplementary Nutrition to Pre-school Children was conducted by Zonunkimi Ralte, SMS (Home Science) at the KVK Training Hall on the 10th June, 2011.
NICRA Project Launching Programme
Today on the 29th April, 2011 KVK Lunglei District, Hnahthial, Mizoram launched the NICRA Project at Hnahthial Village. The programme was chaired by Programme Coordinator KVK Lunglei District. Head of district level officers of Agriculture and allied departments, NGO, SHG etc. attended the programme.
The Project was launched successfully and members present give a good response, saying that they are very eager to work for the successful implementation of the Project.
Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting
KVK Lunglei District organised Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting on the 4th April, 2011 under the chairmanship of Dr. O.P. Singh, Director of Agriculture (Research & Education) at Circuit House Conference Hall, Lunglei. All the members of the SAC from different Departments attended the meeting and discussed about the activities taken up by the KVK.
Training on S.R.I. (System of Rice Intensification)
KVK Hnahthial, Lunglei District conducted training on S.R.I. (System of Rice Intensification) on the 8th February, 2011 at KVK Training Hall, Hnahthial. The training was conducted by Senjit Singh Ashem, S.M.S. (Agronomy) and Laltharzuali Kawlni (Farm Manager).
The training was attended by 30 farmers from different villages of Hnahthial Sub-Division. The topic covers how rice plants can be induced to become more productive and how the system also changes the management of rice plants and of the soil, water and nutrients that support them in simple but specific way. The farmers were also taught how to maintain number of seedlings per hill, square planting and water management. The mechanical (cono) weeder was also practically demonstrated to the farmers.
Basics of Computer & Internet Applications
Under the sponsorship of ATMA, KVK Hnahthial, Lunglei District organized training on ‘Basics of Computer & Internet Applications’ on the 7th February, 2011 at T.S. High School, Electric Veng, Hnahthial.
The training was conducted by Laldinpuia (Computer Programmer). The training focused on the basics of computer, history of computer, different types of computer application and Basic Internet Applications and its uses were also highlighted. The main idea of the training was to create I.T. awareness amongst the children and to teach them how to use computer and internet more efficiently in their field of studies.
Piggery Management
On the 2nd February, 2011 KVK Lunglei District organized a training on Piggery Management for the rural farmers of the district. The training was conducted by Subject Matter Specialist (A.H. & Vety) Dr. David Malsawmdawngliana.

Training on Pig Farming
Under the sponsorship of ATMA, the Animal Husbandry discipline of KVK, Lunglei District, Mizoram organized a training on “Pig Farming” on the 27th January, 2011 at KVK Training Hall, KVK Hnahthial. The training was conducted by Subject Matter Specialist Dr. David Malsawmdawngliana. More than thirty (30) local farmers interested in Pig Farming attended the training. Different farming system, feeding, care and management of piglets, pregnant sows, breeding boar, disease prevention, control and management were highlighted.
